About $20,000 in rings were stolen from a Murfreesboro woman. The victim told police the rings, one of which was an antique wedding band, were in a plastic storage crate that was in her closet. The theft occured at the victims house in the area of the Northwoods Subdivision.

Police are investigating the case and it is thought that a subcontractor who works with or through a chain hardware store may have been the last person in her home. Evidently, he was there to give the victim a quote on remodeling her bathroom.

The case is under investigation and due to the amount of money that the rings were worth, it is a felony theft case. In other words, if the suspect is caught and convicted they could face three years of prison time or perhaps even more. Class "C" felony cases can carry a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
