The MTSU Todd Art Gallery (TAG) proudly announces its fall semester 2015 opening exhibit. Located in the main gallery and the new TAG|West Gallery the exhibition is entitled, Still Life: The Art of Moonshine and is scheduled August 27-September 10. An opening reception is planned Wednesday, August 26, 6-8 p.m.

Featuring a thematic fine art collection of work juried by and containing selected pieces from renowned artists Dr. Brian Harnetty and Elias Hansen, Still Life has been described as an exhibit from the Heart of Middle Tennessee and Beyond to the Far Corners of the American Psyche. It is further enriched by the inclusion of other U.S. artists & students working in traditional and nontraditional media including musical composition, new & conceptual art, performance, poetry, and sound art.

By expanding the traditional gallery presentation this way the exhibit further explores Moonshine's far-reaching and ongoing history, stereotypes, methods, and mythos to ask each exhibit viewer, "What is this iconic American symbol, as seen through the eyes of the contemporary artist?" Dr. Harnetty and Mr. Hansen will attend the reception and provide lectures Thursday, August 27, 2015. Additionally, other special guest artists related to the production and distillation of moonshine are scheduled to speak.

All Todd Art Gallery exhibits, lectures, and receptions are free and open to the public. Todd Art Gallery is located in the Todd Building, room 224A. The TAG|West Gallery is adjacent and located in room 224.
