65-year old Christel Ann Perkins (pictured to the right) was taken into custody by Rutherford County Sheriff Detectives in 2010 for the 1970 shooting death of Jorja L. Walter. The case was ruled as an accidental shooting in ’79, but after the family approved her body to be exhumed several years ago the case was relabeled as homicide. Detectives found conflicting evidence in the case which led to the charges against Perkins in 2010.
