Mitchell explains with Nissan and other Industrial Development Board properties have arrangements on the amount of money they'll pay the county in lieu of a property tax. Nissan North America's in lieu tax payment to the county is just over five-point-four million dollars. General Mills, the third highest assessed property in the county, pays an in lieu of payment of 223-thousand dollars. Their property was assessed at over 54-million dollars at a tax rate of over one-point-three million. Middle Tennessee Electric, Bridgestone, Swanson Development, The Avenues, CF Realty - formally Southpark, HCA, Stone Ridge Farms apartment complexes and Stones River Mall are also in the top 10.
