How could 248 gallons of anything go missing without anyone noticing it?

Over the past several days, 248 gallons of diesel fuel somehow went missing from a local gas station. The fuel was reported as stolen at the Kangaroo Express on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro.

To put 248 gallons in perspective, imagine 248 one gallon milk containers at your local grocery store. That is how much fuel was stolen.

A clerk at the store reported the theft after she called her supervisor. The corporate office told the worker to call the police and file a report. The clerk could not advise when or how the theft happened.

For those trying to do the math in your head, the total amount of diesel missing equaled 248-gallons. Right now the average diesel price is $3.45 per gallon. That means the stolen fuel adds up to $855.60.
