3-Murfreesboro bankers promoted by First National Bank of McMinnville

Three Murfreesboro bankers were among those promoted by First National Bank of McMinnville in recognition of outstanding performance at its January Board of Directors meeting.

Stacy Vincent and Rick Thornton were promoted from assistant vice president/commercial lender to vice president/commercial lender.

Also promoted were Rutherford County resident Scott Uselton from Senior VP/ Senior Credit Officer to Executive VP/ Chief Credit Officer and Chief Retail Investment Officer and Warren County resident Anne Vance from Assistant Vice President/ Human Resource and Marketing Manager to VP/ Human Resource and Marketing Manager.

"The Board of Directors were absolutely delighted to recognize and promote all of these individuals. They have done a great job for the bank and has served the customers of the bank very well. These promotions are well deserved and is just the next stepping stone for them in the advancement of their careers," Pieter van Vuuren, president and CEO of the bank, said.

Vincent and Thornton received promotions based on their outstanding performances as commercial lenders at First National's Murfreesboro branch.

Uselton recently launched and leads FNB Wealth Management in addition to his roles as chief credit officer.

Brian Wilcox, Executive Vice-President/ Rutherford County, lauded Vincent and Thornton's promotions.

"Stacy and Rick are rightfully recognized for their consistent hard work, great service to their customers and overall professional efforts to make our branch here such a successful operation," Wilcox said.

Vincent has 20 years of banking experience in branch management and lending, having served as an assistant vice president at three area banks before taking advantage of the opportunity to join First National Bank of McMinnville.

She is a member and former board member of the Smyrna Rotary and Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce for which she served as a Diplomat in 2007 and 2008. She is also active with the American Heart Association, Junior Achievement and Business Network International.

Thornton has more than 30 years of experience in banking, specifically in commercial/business relationship banking and corporate credit card processing, and including extensive knowledge in areas of commercial real estate, C&I lending, and acquiring deposits.

Thornton is an active member of the community, serving as district representative of the Tennessee District of National Exchange Club, past president (two terms) and active member Exchange Club of Murfreesboro, advisory board member for Exchange Club Family Center for prevention of child abuse.

He also serves as a budget panel member for United Way of Rutherford/ Cannon Counties.

Uselton joined First National in 2012 after starting his banking career in Murfreesboro in 1988.

He received a BBA from MTSU with a major in finance and minor in business administration. He holds a securities and investment advisor representative licenses. He is a Certified Financial Planner ®. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, Southeastern School of Lending in Advance Commercial Lending and Southeastern School of Lending in Advanced Cash Flow Analysis.

Uselton has been married for more than 20 years to the former Robbie Yates. They have one daughter.

He served as chairperson for First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, director of Mid-Cumberland Area Development Corp., finance committee member of First Methodist, director and treasurer of Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club, finance committee co-chair for Trail of Tears District, Boys Scouts of America, member of the Commonwealth Society, graduate of Leadership Rutherford and ambassador for Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

Vance joined First National in 2013 at human resources manager, a field in which she has worked since 1999 including stints at Federal Mogul, Carrier and River Park Hospital.

She is a graduate of Leadership McMinnville, serves on the Chamber of Commerce board and River Park Hospital Community Advisory Board and has been involved with Relay for Life, Queens for a Cure (cancer), Queens for a Cause (autism), Pink Out Committee and Families in Crisis.

Vance last year added First National's marketing operations to her duties as human resource manager.
