The 39th Annual Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival is this weekend in Murfreesboro. The event is held at Cannonsburgh Village July 8-9 and the festival includes the National Championships in Old-Time Banjo, Old-Time Buck Dancing, and Old-Time Clogging, Arts and crafts, a motorless parade, children's activities and concessions.

The Southeast Tourism Society has named the 39th Annual Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for July, 2016.

Have you ever wanted to be a part of a world record? Gloria Christy with Shacklett's Photography told News Radio WGNS that they will attempt to break the world record for having the largest number of square dancers dancing in one place on Thursday...

This Thursday (July 7, 2016), an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Square Dance will take place at 6 pm on the Murfreesboro square. All you have to do is show up! They will be giving square dancing lessons before the world record is attempted.

According to the State of Tennessee, the square dance is the official dance of Tennessee, but the record for the World's Largest Square Dance is now held in Illinois.

Admission is $10 per day, and includes an evening concert. Children 12 and under are free.
