Middle Tennessee Christian School will host its 53rd Annual Steak Dinner on November 14, 2013.  Dr. Bruce D. McLarty, President of Harding University, will be the speaker at this year’s dinner.

Dr. McLarty received a bachelor’s degree in Bible from then Harding College in 1978, a Master of Theology degree from Harding School of Theology in Memphis, Tenn., in 1982, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio, in 2010.  He was the named fifth president of Harding University on November 1, 2012 and officially began his role as president June 1, 2013.

Harding University is a private liberal arts Christian university in Searcy, Arkansas, about 50 miles north-east of Little Rock.  The university takes its name from James A. Harding.

“We are honored that Dr. McLarty accepted our invitation to speak at this year’s Steak Dinner,” said MTCS President Dr. Phil Ellenburg.  “It is exciting to host someone who shares our zeal for Christian education.”

Middle Tennessee Christian School is an independent school serving close to 700 students from Rutherford and surrounding counties in pre-school through the twelfth grade.  Chartered in 1960, the school opened in the fall of 1962.  MTCS is accredited by AdvancED, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the National Christian School Association.

The Annual Steak Dinner is the oldest continuing fund-raising event for Middle Tennessee Christian School.  The first dinner was sponsored by the original Board of Trustees to raise funds to start the school.  The Board of Trustees hosts the dinner annually to support the operations of the school.
