A NEW Kids Castle Coming to Murfreesboro

A new Kids Castle in Old Fort Park is still on the drawing board for the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department. The six bidders who originally submitted proposals to the parks department will be asked to resubmit their bids as the parks have changes they want to make to their playground plans. The parks are aiming to build a new playground for about $300-thousand. The city says that half of that $300-thousand figure will come from a grant the city has already secured from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Once the new bids are submitted and a contractor is selected, the new playground should be complete by this summer.
