The Adventures in Agriculture event is set for April 9th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lane Agri-Park in Murfreesboro. The Lane Agri-Park is located at 315 John Rice Boulevard, just past Sam's Club and Tractor Supply. Farmers will be there to share their knowledge of animals, crops, homegrown foods, handmade products, and more with parents and children. Admission is FREE and open to the public. We will be taking can food donations for the Rutherford County Food bank at registration.

This event, hosted by members and partners of the Rutherford County Agriculture Community, provides many hands-on activities to teach families about the impact agriculture has on our everyday lives. The first twenty teachers (that teach within Rutherford County) to register will receive a $25 gift certificate, from a local teachers store, along with coupons and other teaching resources.

Adventures in Agriculture will have something for all ages. Children can pick up a passport to have stamped as they pass through the adventure. There will be a drone exhibit and demonstrations on how they are used on a farm. Children of all ages can play "My American Farm" on our new tablet lab. Adventures in Agriculture will have live animal exhibits, food displays, gardening information and more. Adults and children alike will have the opportunity to learn heritage skills, such as butter making, spinning yarn and more. Parents can talk with Master Gardeners and learn how to grow your own vegetables in your back yard or in a container garden, no matter how much (or how little) room you have. There will be plenty of games, food and information. Don't miss this family fun day for all ages.
