After July 1st New Homes In La Vergne Must Have Fire Sprinklers

LA VERGNE - The La Vergne Town Council met at 4:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon (5/29/2014) and approved placing fire sprinklers in all new homes.  

Prior to the vote, listeners were phoning WGNS. A emotionally charged woman supported the idea . . .

A local contractor said . . .

The second reading passed with a 4-1 vote (Mosley, Farmer, Green & Broeker voting AYE and Waldron voting NO). 

Mayor Mosley said, “I am very proud of the board members who voted in support of this measure. There is no doubt that fire sprinklers save lives of responders and citizens.”

The ordinance impacts new construction only and will go into effect on July 1, 2014.
