Alleged Shoplifter Reportedly Urinates Inside Murfreesboro Walmart

A shoplifting incident turned a little bizarre at the Memorial Boulevard Walmart store in Murfreesboro. The incident took place on February 13, 2016.

Police were called to the store when a man was observed concealing merchandise and later passing all points of payment with over $700 worth of video games. A female who was with the man is also accused of taking over $400 in games.

The male suspect was identified as 34 year old John Travis Garvin. The Murfreesboro man was stopped by a Loss Prevention worker and taken to an office inside of Walmart to wait for police to arrive. While in the office, a police report shows that Garvin started to smoke a cigarette inside the store, which is prohibited. The man then urinated in the office, according to the Walmart employee who called the police.

For the reported theft, Garvin was charged with shoplifting. He was also charged with indecent exposure for allegedly urinating inside a Walmart office.

Garvin will appear in court on April 28, 2016. He is currently being held under a $10,000 bond.
