The Mid-South Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be on Saturday, September 22nd at the Embassy Suites and The Avenue on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro, TN.

If you would like to join us as a walker or be a team captain for the 2012 walk, go to http://www.alz.org to register.  Or, walkers can register at the walk beginning at 7:15 am.  Many businesses choose to walk together and a large number of families form teams.  A number of the walkers participate in honor of someone they know with the disease or in memory of a loved one they have lost.  Others walk because they themselves suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.  Some come out because they simply want to make a difference.

The walk will begin at 8:15 am, and the route will take walkers through the Avenue. The walk will be a fun event for the entire family. There will be a kid’s zone with bounce houses, balloon animals, and cookie decorating. Be sure to bring your dog, as there will be a special canine corner, where dogs can show their support by wearing a purple bandana.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually in communities across the nation to raise awareness, funds, support, and hope for families impacted by the disease.  Every 68 seconds someone develops Alzheimer’s disease. Currently there is no cure, but with the support from the communities we serve, we can take the crucial steps towards finding a cure.
