On June 27th and 28th 2015 (Saturday and Sunday) the Stones River Amateur Radio Club and the Rutherford County Amateur Radio Emergency Services will hold their annual Field Day exercise at the StoneCrest Hospital in Smyrna. The location will be at 200 StoneCrest Blvd near I-24 and Sam Ridley Parkway.

The exercise will be to set up radio and data links on emergency power and exchange messages with other ham radio (Amateur Radio) operators as a simulation of emergency conditions without commercial power. The exercise will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday and go for 24 hours straight.

All are invited to attend and see what is happening and learn what communications looks like when the lights and phones don't work. Many members of this group were active during Katrina and the Nashville Flood to help served agencies and the community during the disasters.

There will be a presentation Saturday Evening at 8:00 PM to show some new technology. The presentation will be about designing a radio with your mouse and a computer.
