Another Business Owner Falls Victim to Electric SCAM

The owner of a business in Murfreesboro called the police and the electric department after being scammed out of $1,450. The victim told authorities he received a call stating that his auto-draft payment to Murfreesboro Electric had been interrupted and that he now owed over $1,000. The threat was made that if the bill was not paid, his lights would be shut off.

According to the report, the Northfield Boulevard business owner went bought Money Pak cards to pay the scammer $1,450. Shortly after, he realized he had been scammed. The case was documented by police and labeled as fraud. No arrests have been made.
