Middle Tennessee Medical Center is one of three in Tennessee and among only 18 in seven states to win recognition from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association. The recognition was given to MTMC for for cutting energy consumption more than 10 percent. The Murfreesboro facility's staff reduced simultaneous heating and cooling areas of the hospital, as well as closely managed the integrity of areas where outside air can enter the building. MTMC joined sister hospitals Saint Thomas and Baptist as the only Tennessee facilities recognized.
