Apples for Sight in Rutherford County

The Murfreesboro Lioness Club has announced their tenth annual fundraiser that is going on now through November 10, 2015. For a $100 donation you will receive a box of delicious apples. They will be delivered locally the week of October 27 through November 10.

The tasty apples make excellent treats for Halloween, for employees, for customers, or just plain eating. The proceeds are used for Lions Sight Conservation projects including the eye screening of children from one to six years to detect seven diseases of the eye and provide correction before the child gets too old for correction.

The Club also funds an annual MTSU Scholarship for a sight impaired student and donates to Middle Tennessee Lions Sight Service that funds cataract surgeries for the indigent or other surgeries at Tennessee Lions Eye Center at Vanderbilt Hospital, and donates to Tennessee School for the Blind and Leader Dog that provides service dogs for the sight-impaired.
