A fun event honoring Siegel High School football player Baylor Bramble, who was critically injured in a game against Warren County last season, will be held in Blackman High's gym from 9:00AM to 2:00PM on Saturday, April 16th. The Bramble Bash features a 5 on 5 basketball tournament along with a children's festival.

Baylor's father is the assistant pastor at Northside Baptist Church, and the church's website is the official website for updates on Baylor.

It explains, "Baylor Bramble, the 17 year old son of Assistant Pastor David Bramble and his wife Christy, suffered a severe brain injury during a football game on Friday night, October 23rd (2015). He remains in critical condition. His family requests prayer for God's miraculous healing for Baylor."

In addition, Blackman's head coach is the former Siegel coach. Plus, The Bramble Bash is another way that our community can help Baylor. It's also a way special way for those who love 5 on 5 basketball to live a dream day!

Renee Delbridge told NewsRadio WGNS, "The first sixteen teams who sign up and pay are included in The Bramble Bash."

In addition to the 5 on 5 basketball tournament in the gym, there will be children's activities in the grassy area behind the Blackman High gym. Those include a car smash, bounce house, cake walk, face painting, balloon pop and many more.

The cost to participate in the 5-on-5 basketball tournament is $20 per player, which includes the game(s), t-shirt and lunch. Tournament fees are due to Blackman High School's Event Planning Class by Friday, March 18th.

The top three teams will earn cash prizes and door prizes will be given out throughout the tournament.

Tickets to participate in the children's activities are $1 each for most areas, but two tickets for some. Wrist bands are also sold for $10, which allows unlimited participation, and for families with more than one child--additional wrist bands are $5.

Concessions will be available throughout the event. There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, candy, and drinks. Children, teens, and adults are invited to watch the teams during the basketball tournament and participate in the outside games and activities.

Put Saturday, April 16th, on your calendar for The Bramble Bash at Blackman High School. It's a great way to let Baylor Bramble and his family know that the community is behind them with prayers and financial support for his staggering medical fees.
