Have you ever wondered what would happen if a thief attempted to rob you at gunpoint and you told them that you didn’t have any money?

An employee of Rent-A-Center in Murfreesboro was at an apartment on East Sevier Street retrieving an item that had been rented from the store when he was approached by a robber. The unknown man told the worker to hand over his money. The store employee pulled out his wallet and showed the thief that it was empty. The subject then demanded the workers cell phone. The victim told the man that he didn’t have a cell phone with him. That was when the culprit told the victim that he would look in his truck for one. The man, who was armed with a pistol, stated, “If I find a cell phone, I’m gonna’ shoot you.” The man looked in the truck and said, “Fine then,” when he could not find a phone. After the attempted hold up the subject calmly walked away. The victim called the police. The armed robber was not caught.
