Attempted arson or just weird coincidence in Murfreesboro? You decide.

A resident on Buckingham Drive called Murfreesboro Police when someone tried to set his home on fire. The fire was started around the foundation of the house and it burned both the mulch and the gutter and drain system.

The victim told officers that shortly after the fire he noticed someone put a gutter brochure in his mailbox. Officer Womack wrote in his report, “The company repairs the type of drain system the victim has.”

No arrests have been made. The offense was described as an “Attempted Arson.”
