Attempted Car Jacking in Murfreesboro

A woman driving alone down Hancock Street was almost car jacked on Monday evening around 5. The female told Murfreesboro officers when she approached the East Castle Street intersection, an unknown man reached into her car window and attempted to open her door. The woman yelled at the stranger to move his hand and she then stabbed him with a spare set of keys. The man told the woman that he was from California and needed money. The victim quickly drove away and called police. By the time officers got to the intersection, the California subject was nowhere to be found. No arrest could be made and the crime was labeled an attempted motor vehicle theft.
