People using spoof phone numbers to scam local residents continues in Rutherford County. Authorities are having a real problem tracking down the people behind the scams because of the fake phone numbers they are using.

Sheriff Robert Arnold recently told WGNS that he too was the victim of a caller using a spoof number.

If you get a questionable phone call, tell the person on the other end of the line you will call them back. Then, find out the correct phone number for the organization they claimed to be calling about.
