UPDATE: Authorities identify body of female found in Coffee County

UPDATE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified a female homicide victim discovered in Coffee County this past weekend. The woman found shot and burned in an old rock quarry has been identified as 51 year old Connie Lou Brown of McMinnville. She has no fixed street address. At this time, no arrests have been made in the case. 

How victim was found:

At approximately 12:35 p.m. on March 9, 2013, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a body being discovered near the Summitville Cave at an old rock quarry. The woman’s body was found Saturday by Jerry Allen who was riding a four-wheeler in the quarry area and notified authorities.

According to Capt Frank Watkins of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department the female was shot one time somewhere else and her body was later dumped in the quarry.
