Avoiding the Five Fatal Flaws of Management Executive Coach John Boyens to Key RUTHERFORD Cable Meeting on May 10

Research shows that most people don't opt for management roles because they expressed an interest or demonstrated a skill, but rather they were good, individual performers, according to executive coach John Boyens.

"For instance, on Friday, they were a Customer Service Representative, and on Monday, they become the Customer Service Manager. Or on Friday, they were a salesperson, and on Monday, they become the Sales Director," he explained. "They weren't given the training or tool kit to become successful in their new role."

This is precisely why most (if not all) first-time managers exhibit one or more of the 5 Fatal Flaws of Management, he continued.

Boyens is slated to keynote RUTHERFORD Cable's monthly breakfast meeting from 7:15-9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Stones River Country Club, located at 1830 N.W. Broad St. in Murfreesboro.

During his presentation, Boyens will describe each of the five flaws and provide attendees with tools and techniques to avoid those flaws in the future. RUTHERFORD Cable members and guests are welcome, and the public is invited to attend; the cost for this meeting is $20 and includes breakfast.

Reservations are available online at rutherfordcable.org and must be completed by Thursday, May 6.
