It's back to school day for almost 78-hundred Murfreesboro City School students today (Monday) as summer draws to a close. City students will report to their new classes for an abbreviated day today and the first full day of classes tomorrow (Tuesday).

Rutherford County students won't be far behind, with a two-hour day for them this Thursday. The first full day for county students will be next Monday, August 12th. The county also debuted their newest school, Stewarts Creek High School, yesterday (Sunday) at an open house.

It's also a big week for three schools, under new leadership. Amy Patton takes over as principal at Smyrna Elementary, Helen Campbell at Walter Hill Elementary and Kim Edwards at Oakland Middle.

Buses will be running this week and motorists are encouraged to obey school zone speed limits and watch for buses and kids at crossings.
