According to a 2009 Kids Count survey, 117-teenage girls became pregnant while attending school in Rutherford County. Centerstone Prevention Services will help to educate teens about pregnancy and sex related diseases in the upcoming school year. Centerstone recently secured a $5-million federal grant to help battle Tennessee’s teen pregnancy rate. Centerstone will address teen pregnancy at several Rutherford County Schools. The programs will be geared towards children in grades 7th through 12th.
