The Blackman boys defeated Oak Ridge 60-58 to claim Rutherford County's first state championship in boys basketball since 1965. The Lady Raiders down Southern Miss 84-55 to claim the first CUSA women's basketball tournament championship in only their first year.

Down the stretch, the Blaze converted seven out of nine free throws to seal the victory, including six in a row by Blaze senior Andrew Rogan. Tournament MVP Jauan Jennings, who had 14 in the game, was joined on the all state tournament team by Lukas Hart, Andrew Rogan and Reid Pierce. Blackman becomes only the second team in Class Triple-A and the fifth in T-Double-S-Double-A history to win both a boys and girls championship in the same year.
