It's a three-peat for the Blackman boys. They handed Siegel their first loss of the year, 80-65, in the District 7-AAA boys championship game. The Blaze built an early lead behind hot shooting and a 1-3-1 zone defense that the Stars struggled against. It made their dribble penatration more difficult and Siegel struggled shooting from the outside. Lucas Hart led Blackman with 20, Isaiah Hart had 19 and Jauan Jennings 13. Siegel got 17 second half points from Charles Clark, 15 from Ryan Jones. It was Siegel's first loss of the year, now 26-and-1. Blackman improves to 21-and-5.
La Vergne jumped on rival Smyrna early and didn't let up, winning the consolation game 74-58. The Wolverines shot just over 50-percent for the game and had seven three pointers. They had a 19 point lead by halftime. Marquis Johns led La Vergne with 17 points. Charles Sutton had 12, Isaiah Reese and Jerrel Horner both had 10. Smyrna was led by Hunter Ferrell's 16 points. Chavel Glover had 12.
Blackman 80, Siegel 56
La Vergne 74, Smyrna 58
