In conjunction with Stones River Mall, the event planning class at Blackman High School will present Kids Club: Santa Around the World from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, near the Children's Play Area at Stones River Mall. The community is invited to learn about other cultures and have fun!

An intercultural festival, Kids Club: Santa Around the World will offer attendees interactive games, activities, and food samples (while supplies last) from five different countries, including Australia, Germany, Greece, Mexico, and Russia. Each country's booth will feature cultural activities, and each child who participates will receive a small passport that will be stamped at each booth, just like a real passport.

The Event Planning Class at Blackman High School requires students to plan, organize, and implement real-world events. The participating team, consisting of Svetlana Baranova, Kendall Clark, Kendall Jones, Aja Mowery, and Bradley Overbay decided to plan a public relations event for Stones River Mall. Blackman High School DECA will also be volunteering and working the event.

"Many children are not aware of the differences in culture from country to another," Baranova explained. "Our goal is to spread cultural awareness by having an intercultural festival that will be interactive and appealing to children of all ages."

Stones River Mall Kids Club provides engaging and educational events to elementary school-aged children and their families throughout the year. Events are free, and no registration is required. Stones River Mall requires that all children be supervised by an adult during these events.
