Boater Thanks Smyrna Police for Saving His Life

A Murfreesboro man has credited Smyrna Police for saving his life. Jose Cordoba-Ruiz was boating the Stones River on Wednesday when his boat started to sink. Cordoba-Ruiz says the boat then flipped, dumping his fishing poles into the water.

Another boater saw the man in distress and called the police. Officers Keysha Bryant and Gary Schoon responded to the scene and jumped into the water to help. They pulled the victim safely to shore. Cordoba-Ruiz then thanked the officers for saving his life.
