The Rutherford County Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, in partnership with the Rutherford County March of Dimes, will host Bowling For Babies on April 9th, 2016 at 10:00am. The event will take place at Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles bowling alley which is located at 450 Butler Drive in Murfreesboro.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the nation's oldest intercollegiate fraternity for African-American men, has been in partnership with the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation since 1980. This collaborative event is designed to raise much needed funds to help the March of Dimes continue its efforts to help prevent premature births.

The Rutherford County chapter of the fraternity raised over $4600 in 2015 for the March of Dimes, making them the top fundraising fraternity or sorority for March of Dimes in the state of Tennessee. They have set a goal of $5000 in 2016. All proceeds raised from Bowling For Babies will be donated to the Rutherford County March of Dimes.

"You do not have to be a great bowler to participate in this event," said event coordinator Joseph Marsh. "We just plan to bowl and have fun while helping to raise money to save the lives of babies". The two hour event will consist of multiple five person bowling teams competing for the cumulative highest score. There will be numerous trophies, prizes, and gift cards given away to event participants. Event registration is available online at www.bowlingforbabies2016.eventbrite.com. The registration fee is $25 per person and $125 per team. If you are unable to attend Bowling For Babies, donations of any amount can also be made at www.marchforbabies.org/aphiaosl.
