Branches Counseling Center is putting down roots. After receiving a grant from the Christy Houston Foundation, they were able to complete their first Capitol Building Campaign and purchase a facility located at 1102 Dow Street in Murfreesboro. Additionally, a portion of the grant received will allow them to upgrade their computer systems to remain HIPPA compliant while better serving the needs of the 700 clients seen on a monthly basis.

Branches Counseling Center is a faith based non profit (503C) and offers Christian counseling both locally to the middle Tennessee community and nationally through their Intensive Outpatient Program. They gave away $384,000 in scholarships for counseling in 2014 and expect to exceed that total for 2015. This was the first grant of its' kind for the center and Founder and Director, Michael Courtney was humbled and grateful for the opportunities it will provide. "With this grant, we are now able to provide all our staff their own office space to see their clients, provide our clients a more welcoming environment- from better parking and a bigger lobby to spacious group rooms. This building is allowing us to say to our community 'We are not going anywhere. We are here to serve and ready to grow.' It is helping us continue our mission to provide a place of hope and healing regardless of ability to pay."
