Brazen thief steals diesel fuel out of semi in Murfreesboro with owner asleep inside cab

A bold thief decided to steal 100-gallons of fuel… out of a semi-truck that was running and with the owner of the truck asleep in the cab. The incident occurred behind the Pilot Gas Station on South Church Street. The operator of the big rig told police that he awoke at around 6:30 Tuesday morning only to realize that his fuel gauge was on empty.

The management at the gas station told the truck driver that they would pull surveillance video footage to help police determine the identity of the brazen thief. The theft of diesel fuel was valued at $500.
