The Tennessee Department of Transportation says a lot of progress has been made on the Bridge Over Broad project. This is the new interchange at Broad Street, Memorial Boulevard and Old Fort Parkway. T-DOT spokeswoman Heather Jensen says much of the recent work was underground as crews relocated utilities. New sewer and gas lines systems are nearly complete while construction of new water lines and storm drains continue. Jensen says activity will increase soon in the work zone as work begins on the ramp and retaining wall construction. She says as the walls and ramps are erected, the project will begin to take shape. The traffic pattern within the project limits is also expected to change this year. Jensen adds the current traffic pattern on Broad and Memorial will remain in effect until late spring.
