This marks the inaugural year for the Think Pink Bunco Tournament.  The community-wide fundraiser will benefit breast cancer education and awareness through the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.

“This year, our goal was to host a larger fundraiser that would encourage more community involvement”, says Brittany Gammon, president of the ZTA Murfreesboro alumnae chapter.

“The event also provides an opportunity to create awareness within Murfreesboro and educate participants about breast health”, says Gammon.

Each year, the Murfreesboro alumnae volunteer at Race for the Cure, distribute pink ribbons at the Titan’s Think Pink® game and collect pink Yoplait lids for the Save Lids to Save Lives campaign.

In addition to fundraising and community service, the alumnae chapter members also provide support to the Zeta Tau Alpha chapter at Middle Tennessee State University in various capacities.

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1898 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Va., and has more than 211,000 members worldwide. Breast cancer education and awareness became ZTA’s national philanthropy in 1992 and the organization partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Yoplait®, the National Football League and SELF magazine to promote awareness. Think Pink® is a registered trademark of Zeta Tau Alpha.
