Kids need lots of support after a loss, and they also need to have fun and just be kids. Support and fun are what Camp Forget-Me-Not is all about! This summer day camp for grieving children is coming up in Murfreesboro June 22-24, and there's still time to sign up.

Camp Forget-Me-Not was started in Murfreesboro in 1992 and has helped a total of 889 kids over the last 25 years. This summer, the camp will have served more than 900 children and teens by the time it concludes on June 24.

Camp Forget-Me-Not, which was created to meet the special needs of grieving kids ages 6-14, will be facilitated once again this year by Alive Hospice grief counselors and volunteers. There is a cost of $30 per participant, but need-based scholarships are available so that grieving children may benefit regardless of ability to pay. Space is limited, and registration is required. For more information or to register, call 615-346-8680.

It will be held this year at Northminster Prebysterian Church, 708 W Clark Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Activities will include a small and large group activities utilizing a variety of creative projects to help the kids learn about grief. Additionally, there will be a water activities day, a petting zoo, and -- at the end of camp -- a butterfly release to remember the loved ones they've lost, but who remain part of them still.

Camp Forget-Me-Not is open to any child who has lost a loved one, regardless of whether the person was an Alive Hospice patient. In fact, many kids who attend each year did not have a previous connection to Alive Hospice.
