The Camp History:

Camp Horizon was founded in 1983 by the American Cancer Society to serve the special needs of past and present pediatric cancer patients.  In 1997 Camp Horizon was expanded to include the siblings of the cancer patient to give them the support they need.  The American Cancer Society announced this year they will no longer fund pediatric oncology camps in the US in order to increase funding for cancer research.  Camp Horizon is now operated by the Beyond the Horizon Corporations, a non-profit organization created for the sole purpose of saving this wonderful resource.

Who is the Camp For:

Camp Horizon Pediatric Oncology Camp is open to children 6-17 years old who were diagnosed with cancer, or receive cancer treatment in the past 5 years and their siblings ages 5-16 providing the needed emotional support to the well child.  Camp Horizon is held each year at the Bethany Hills Campground in Kingston Springs, TN.  This camp serves over 100 campers each year from all over Tennessee and surrounding states at NO COST to the families.  The camp is staffed by well-trained volunteer counselors to provide a safe and memorable camping experience, as well as doctors and nurses who volunteer their time as well.  Children currently receiving cancer treatment can continue to receive medication while visiting the camp.

Camp Horizon is now funded by the generous donations from the community and corporate sponsors.  All proceeds from the Airsoft event goes directly to fund the mission of Camp Horizon.  Corporate sponsors for this event includes The Insurance Mafia, After Hours Limousines, New Beginning Coaching Services, Anthem Career College, Lyttle Fox Therapy, Pour After Pour, and Bad Karma Airsoft.  There will also be numerous vendors from the community who has donated prizes to be entered in a silent auction.
