Smyrna Police need the public's help in solving a strong armed robbery that unfolded earlier this month (05/02/16).

Sergeant Bobby Gibson told WGNS that a 56 year old woman was walking through a breezeway at the Verandas apartment complex when a black male between the ages of 18 and 25, wearing dark baggy blue jeans and a white sweatshirt knocked her to the ground.

Reports indicate the suspect stole the victims purse and began running towards a black Nissan Murano that was waiting outside of the main gate at the complex. Two citizens that were working nearby intervened and were able to get the woman's purse back, but the man got away.

Sgt. Gibson stated, "The suspect was accompanied by two black males, a black female, and possibly a second black female."
