No one was hurt when a car came crashing into a house on Red Mile Road. Rutherford County Fire-Rescue Lieutenant Matthew Lupo tells NewsRadio WGNS crews responded to home around 9pm Monday at 2007 Red Mile Road, which is just off the Manchester Highway. The car left the roadway in a curve and made some contact with a utility pole before running up onto a porch. The car took out several decorative pillars and railings before busting through a brick face wood framed wall into a bathroom and bedroom.

Lupo says the resident was home at the time but in the back of the house and unharmed. The driver of the car was able to get out of the vehicle and was being treated for possible injuries by Rutherford County Fire-Rescue emergency medical personnel prior to EMS arrival. Once EMS arrived, the patient was treated and transported by ambulance. There was no apparent damage to any electrical to the house and the wall damage was all non-structural over approximately a 10 foot by 8 foot area. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
