An attempted car jacking occurred around the same time as a robbery at First Cash in Murfreesboro on Tuesday morning around 8. The car jacking incident was on the opposite side of town. Reports indicate the car jacking was reported on Lytle Street. The suspect, who was arrested, was said to be armed with a handgun.

The subject failed to get the car and failed to getaway. Police caught 30-year old Asa Gilbert minutes after the incident. He was charged with “Car Jacking, Failure to Appear and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.”

Gilbert is currently being held under a $17,500 bond in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
