Central Magnet School Holds Orchestra Festival

Saturday, May 12th, the Central Tennessee Orchestra Festival will premiere its first concert at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro at 6:00 pm. This orchestra is comprised of students from three different counties who have gathered for the weekend to practice together.  Under the batons of Dr. Carol Nies and Mr. Sam Olivia students will perform music from Brahms to Elton John. The ultimate goal for this orchestra is to engage young musicians in string music, encourage retention in the arts and raise community awareness of the importance of music education in our schools. The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
