A 20-year old Smyrna man has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated child abuse after a Rutherford County Grand Jury indictment. Anthony Cox, also known as A.J., was arrested by Murfreesboro Police after an investigation and indictment. According to reports from Murfreesboro Police, the Berrywood Drive man allegedly became upset when his girlfriend's three-year old child urinated on him instead of going to the toilet. That's when the report states he whipped her, causing severe injury to the child. The Department of Children's Services and Murfreesboro Police conducted an investigation, which was presented to the grand jury. Cox has been jailed on 100-thousand dollars bond and will be in Circuit Court on April 20th.
