A Murfreesboro man by the name of Christopher Vanderbent is facing a rape of a child charge along with a single charge of aggravated sexual battery in Rutherford County. Vanderbent will appear in court next week to face the charge before the honorable Judge Royce Taylor in Circuit Court.
Details of the case are not being released to protect the identity of the child victim. Reports at this time indicate that 31 year old Vanderbent is currently free on bond.
