Rutherford County resident Christy Sigler is honored to announce she is on the August 4 (2016) ballot as a candidate to represent Rutherford County's 34th State House district.

Says Christy Sigler, "I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support I am seeing as we knock on doors throughout the 34th District. I am hearing from people from the west side of Murfreesboro, Versailles, Eagleville - they all want a voice in Nashville."

When asked 'what is the number one concern of the citizens of the 34th District?' Christy Sigler states "It's difficult to narrow down the concerns I am hearing in the 34th District. I hear concerns on everything from traffic congestion to explosive growth to government overreach to education."

Christy's commitment to serving our country and community dates beyond her time in the United States Army, where she served five years active duty. "My strong Conservative roots come from my upbringing in the east Tennessee towns of Dandridge and Farragut. My family has believed in Conservative convictions since before I was born. My grandparents on both sides farmed, worked hard, and demonstrated the value of serving the community.

As an attorney Christy is an experienced advocate who is certified as a specialist in child welfare law by the National Association of Counsel for Children. Christy's law practice mostly consists of representing the interests of abused and neglected children or children charged with delinquent offenses, obtaining adoptions, and pursuing grandparents' rights and custody matters.

Christy's conviction to advocate for and to improve the quality of life for children and families earned her an appointment by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth in 2011 and was reappointed in 2014. Christy continues to provide leadership and support for child advocates across the state.

"We need a fresh perspective in Nashville: someone who is not afraid to fight for our kids, fight Washington overreach, fight for government transparency, fight for fiscal responsibility, and most of all be accessible."
