Living gospel music history will be on stage 6 p.m., Sunday, March 3, when the fabled Chuck Wagon Gang will appear in concert at Smyrna’s Parkway Baptist Church, located on Lee Victory Parkway just off I-24 across from Publix Shopping Center.
Another layer of history will unfurl when the historic Southern Gospel group is introduced by famous Grand Ole Opry/WSM Radio announcer Eddie Stubbs, one of the foremost recognized historians of all things Music City-related.
New annals of music history will unfurl when the Gang performs “Someday,” a song penned by Marty Stuart especially for the Gang that is preparing to cut a new album soon in Nashville.
The Gang’s appearance was arranged through Marty’s parents, John and Hilda Stuart, and his sister, Jennifer, who attend Smyrna Parkway Baptist.
“We’re blessed to have this historic Southern Gospel group that has performed all the way from the Grand Ole Opry to Carnegie Hall in New York,” noted Parkway Baptist Music Minister Michael W. Smith, who can be reached at 615-355-8997 for more information.
There is no charge, but an offering will be taken to offset travel expenses.
