At 7:30 pm Thursday night, Susan McGannon sat in the Murfreesboro City Attorney chair one final time. McGannon and her other fellow council members shared their gratitude towards one another as this would be her final council meeting before her effective retirement November 1st. Mayor Shane McFarland said to McGannon, "The legacy you leave is not by ordinances or resolutions. This is not a day for you to be upset, it's a day for you to be thankful." A standing ovation was given to McGannon thanking her for many years of excellent service to the City of Murfreesboro.
New attorney Craig Tindall will take over her chair the next council meeting.
