New business on the docket with this past Thursday evening's City Council Meeting brought forth some more traffic concerns for an already backed up Murfreesboro.

Sam Huddleston with the City of Murfreesboro presented Griggs and Maloney for Conceptual Design Services, showcasing their proposal to resurface parts of the Town Creek system and maintain the creek from Murfree Springs to South Church Street...

This construction would help save the city a lot of money because the pipes and culverts only have a lifespan of about a century and costs thousand of dollars to replace. The city has already used 50-60 years of that current lifespan and have already had major breakdowns. Instead of replacing these pipes every few decades...

This creek system has been encapsulated underground for years and needs to be repaired. These repairs would also help prevent flooding in the area...

City Council approved the proposal.

City Council also approved an addition position for the Planning Committee, requesting funds from unclaimed accounts from the State Treasurer under the Unclaimed Property act, and reappointments for the Cable Television Commission and Disciplinary Review Board.
