The City of Eagleville's Attorney to the City Council, Leon Sharber, announced earlier this year that he would be retiring from his position as the city's legal counsel effective at the end of the current fiscal year.

"My service with the City of Eagleville has been a highlight of my career," said Sharber in his announcement to the City Council at its March 24 meeting. Included in his statement, Sharber noted the sewer system development, the hiring of the city's first full time City Manager, and the ongoing improvements to processes and procedures among the progressive activities he is proud to have been a part of during his seven year tenure.

"I am very appreciative of the opportunity to have worked with Mr. Sharber and am privileged to have been able to lean on him for legal advice - particularly in my first few months in Eagleville," said City Manager, Andrew Ellard, upon learning of Mr. Sharber's pending departure.

Though retiring from his position with the City of Eagleville, Sharber plans to continue working in his private practice, Sharber & Sharber located at 1443 Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro.

The city will promptly begin a search for a new City Attorney in hopes of filling the role by July 1st. Anyone interested in the position or with questions may contact the City Manager at City Hall at (615) 274-2922.
