City School 3rd Graders To Visit Farm

On Tuesday (May 12, 2015), 1,200 third grade school students from Murfreesboro City Schools will hit the road for a real farm tour. The kids will go to the MTSU Farm and Dairy.

For virtually all of these school children who live in the city, it is an opportunity to visit a working farm and find out where many of their food products and other things come from. At various stations, they will hear and see explanations about a variety of things that happen on the farm daily.

Who: 1,200 third-graders from 12 Murfreesboro City Schools

What: Field trip to MTSU Farm and Dairy

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 (600 students will arrive by 9 a.m. and stay until 11 a.m.; another 600 students arrive by 11 a.m. and stay until 1 p.m.)

Where: 3001 and 3211 Guy James Road, Lascassas, Tennessee (3001 Guy James Road is the entrance to MTSU Farm/3211 Guy James Road is the paved entrance to the MTSU Dairy.)
