Central Magnet School senior Sara Smith receives a $1,000 scholarship funded by individual donations from school resource officers and the SRO Association.

School Resource Officer Sgt. Scott Culp presented Smith with the scholarship. She plans to attend Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.

Sara won the award for her essay, "Ways I Would Improve School Safety." She is the first SRO Scholarship winner from Central Magnet.

SRO Jason Urban coordinated the scholarship event.
